At Diamonds International School, we believe that Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Computing are fundamental to preparing our pupils for life in the modern world. Our curriculum is designed to be engaging and challenging, ensuring a clear progression of skills and knowledge from the very first year all the way to year six.
Our Computing curriculum is built around three main pillars: Computer Science, Information Technology, and Digital Literacy.
- Digital Content Creation: Using word processing software (e.g., MS Word/Google Docs), presentation software (e.g., PowerPoint/Google Slides), and graphics software (e.g., MS Paint, Paint 3D) to express ideas.
- Data Handling: Learning to collect, organise, manipulate, and present data using spreadsheets and databases.
- Multimedia: Creating and editing digital media, including sound, video, and photographs, to produce digital stories and animations.
Algorithms & Logic: Learning what algorithms are, how programs follow precise instructions, and using logical reasoning to predict how a program will behave.
Programming (Coding): Students get hands-on experience writing, debugging (fixing errors), and designing programs to accomplish specific goals using tools like [mention specific software like ScratchJr, Scratch, or Logo]. This helps develop problem-solving and computational thinking skills.
